Job Description of Board of Directors
Each Board of Directors (B.O.D.) member plays a critical role in guiding SCRD’s mission and ensuring accountability. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Chairperson – Leads board meetings, represents SCRD externally, and oversees governance.
- Vice-Chairperson – Assists in leadership duties and decision-making processes.
- Treasurer – Manages financial oversight and ensures compliance with donor requirements.
- Secretary – Records meeting minutes and maintains organizational records.
- General Board Members – Provide advisory input and strategic guidance.
The B.O.D. works closely with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure that all programs align with SCRD’s mission and values.
Job Description of the Executive Body
The Executive Body is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of SCRD’s strategy and programs. Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Executive Director – Provides leadership, oversees operations, and represents SCRD externally.
- Program Coordinator – Manages project planning, execution, and community engagement.
- Finance Officer – Handles budgeting, financial reporting, and donor compliance.
- HR Manager – Oversees staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Field Officers – Implement community-based projects and work directly with beneficiaries.
This team ensures that SCRD runs efficiently and effectively, delivering real impact to Somali communities.
Policies and Procedures
SCRD is in the process of developing foundational policies to guide its operations, ensuring compliance,
accountability, and transparency. Key Policies:
- Financial Management & Procurement Policy – Ensures ethical financial transactions and fair purchasing processes.
- HR & Code of Conduct – Establishes guidelines for workplace behavior, anti-discrimination, and professionalism.
- Child Protection & Gender Policy – Promotes the protection of vulnerable groups and gender equality.
