Human Rights & Advocacy
SCRD is committed to protecting the dignity and rights of all individuals, especially the most vulnerable. In a country affected by conflict, displacement, and inequality, promoting human rights is essential for lasting peace and development. Our Human Rights & Advocacy program empowers communities to speak out, claim their rights, and participate in shaping a just society.
Our work focuses on:
Rights Awareness Campaigns: Educating communities about their legal, civil, and social rights through workshops, media outreach, and community dialogues.
Protection of Vulnerable Groups: Advocating for the rights of women, children, displaced people, and persons with disabilities to ensure they are safe, heard, and included.
Legal Support & Referrals: Helping victims of abuse, discrimination, or injustice access legal aid and psychosocial support services.
Policy Engagement: Engaging with government institutions and civil society to promote laws and policies that uphold human rights and equity.
Youth & Community Advocacy: Training young leaders and community activists to advocate for positive change and social justice within their local environments.
Through these initiatives, SCRD is creating a culture of accountability, inclusion, and respect for human rights—laying the foundation for a more fair and peaceful Somalia.
